  6. Hi Mr. Toucan,

I would like very much for you to tell us a little about your culture, the history of Iran, places to visit and anything else you might want to share. To date, I've never visited that area of the world and it would be nice for you to share what you like with me and others. THANKS!

  7. I think its history is amazing and its people are friendly and well-educated (at least the ones I've talked to, but that's just online). Its government, however, is scary as hell.

  9. Mrs BDD, Do you think people in Iran are friendly and Iran's government isn't?

Somebody say "Good people have good government and when a government is not good it's because people are not good."

Everybody, Do you think so about Iran example?

  10. Hello Mehdi,
I can see that you are excited about your website and that you have a variety of friends--a group that is sure to grow. I can also see that your friends cover a broad range of the political spectrum. Have you been able to see a toco toucan in person? They are attractive and interesting birds. I'll send you some of my photos if you want and upload some more Liszt for you. I'm afraid that I don't know the significance of the Comment as: selection.

  11. Thank you very much Mr Ed Allen,my good friend and teacher for your good comment. :)
Yesterday I was angry and sad about china's government... .I asked my Chinese friend to talk with toucan but she said" I can't because government banned it and government banned many sites: Youtube,facebook,... ." I asked my another Chinese friend too but he said "I can't".I said to him" Here in Iran also government don't let see many sites but we break them. If you want I can give you some good way but he said "I scare." Many government in all over the world ask government of Iran "Why do you ban many sites and don't let Iranian people to have a free choice?" but why don't that many government and USA ask China's government this question? why they don't ask Saudi Arabia?
Because of money? because of what?!
This made me sad and angry and today I was angry because of some Power politics... .
but when I see the comment of Ed Allen it made me very happy. :) Thank you Ed Allen
Please say all things in your minds about Iran.
I like Liszt very much and I like to have more and more hehe...

  13. Hello Mehdi (Dan from Livemocha),

Well, we have had many conversations about this. I don't think the "good people have good government" is very accurate. There is an old saying, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions". Ultimately, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. In lesser and greater degrees, this applies to every country and Iran is no exception. My opinion of the Iranian people though I guess is an echo of what I had heard from an American linguistics student who spent over a year there: "Honorable, resilient, and giving people who ask little in return"

  14. Thanks my dear friend Mr Daniel for your nice comment
In fact I don’t get the meaning of this saying very well: "the road to hell is paved with good intentions". If a person explain it to me about it, It make me very happy and pleased.
When I speak to my friends from all over the world I see that reading news is not enough. I see that we can go through the news and feel them in our heart. I think that we must ask from a Korean about Korea, American about America, … and Iranian from Iran. If we have a friend from other country, we feel that country. I as an Iranian will say about Iran and I need you, all my friends to say about your countries.
*Hello jinsoyoung How are you? What about the question? 
*I don’t know who is BDD. I am trying to know which of my friends is it.
    Thank you all

  15. Mehdi: "The road to hell is paved with good intentions" means that ideas that are meant from the best intentions often become corrupted, and we lead ourselves or others to great harm.

  16. If you want an example: I don't think the Soviet Union was formed with the intention of murdering millions and bringing Russia to economic ruin. The USA was formed as a refuge from the tyranny of English Monarch imperialism. I doubt the founding fathers intended for a nation with the most inflated economy on the planet and engaged in massive foreign wars, just as many of the founders of the Iranian revolution probably see a different picture of Iran than what they imagined 30 years ago (reading the words of Ayatollah Montazeri).

  17. I will tell you about an Iranian woman I knew many years ago. She had a son in the same pre-school class my son attended.

During the Christmas holidays it is our custom to sponsor a poor family that does not have enough money to buy things they need. A non-profit charity organization, the Salvation Army gave us the name and contact information of a family.

We found they had several young children including a new baby. They needed warm clothing for the children and a crib for the new baby.

We shared the list of items the family needed with all the parents of the pre-school group. There were many donations of good, clean warm clothes their own children had outgrown and some new toys for the children. But, the Iranian woman asked if it would be alright if she provided the baby crib and how it could be delivered.

She bought a new beautiful crib and all the special furniture for a baby's room and had it delivered to the family, anonymously!

I have always remembered this and think that Iranians are very special people with generous spirits, kind and loving hearts.

  21. But my dad iranian,is very strict to me
    we always have hardtimes together

    ReplyDelete
  22. I think many Iranian fathers are very strict like yours and I think it's because of some bad cultures and customs. A man that lived some years in Iran and grow with this custom and after that go to other country so that he do like before for his family.
